Parole Card.
We the p.o.w's. at Villingen could go out for walks accompanied by a German Officer on certain days of the week. 

We had cards with our picture the pledge in German and English and our signature countersigned by the Kommandant 

On the opposite page is a part of my card with the signature of the Oberstleutenant und Kommandant.



Word-of-honour.

I declare by my word-of-honour, that I will not make any attempt to escape from the time leaving camp until returning to it, will make no preparation for a future escape and that I will not act in any way to the prejudice of the German Empire. 

J know that a prisoner of War escaping inspite of the given word-of-honour, according to § 159 of the German army regulation incures the penalty of death.
