Up at 1130A. Nothing to do but write letters and listen to the radio. Read all about the fire at St. John when the K of C burned killing over 100 people most of them Canadian Soldiers. After supper Smitty & I went down on Water Street to McMurdoo drugstore where we saw Hazel & Edith. Of course they had dates so Smitty & I went up to the USO where I wrote a letter to Sis and Smitty danced. While writing I talked to a Newfie blonde and she seemed quite OK so I ask to take her home. She works at the Westside Officers Club at the Ft. We rode out on the bus and before I left her I made up for a little time lost at Gander. Bay. Was I full of lipstick. Made a date for Saturday.

I don't know why I do these things I have no interest in anyone but Mary & H.B.
