*** ORIGINAL THOUGHT BASIS FOR "PEACE FLIGHT" ***

1. In being one of the instruments whereby "Aviation" was brought to the Federation of Women's Clubs in Southern California, in the past few years, I found:

a. As a whole, women knew nothing at all of aviation
b. As a whole, women are afraid of aviation.
c. As a whole, women have no realization of the necessity of proper air defense as a means towards "PEACE".
d. A good percentage did not want to hear anything of the "air armament" of foreign countries: nor the standing of our own country.
e. As a whole, women do not realize the power of the woman vote.
f. As a whole, women are quite proud of "Women pilots".

2. In being one of the Founders of the WOMEN'S AIR RESERVE whose Preamble is (in part)

"The primary object of this organization shall be to train women pilots in practical mechanics, as pertaining to any skilled workmanship, academic work, and in flying, so that they may be qualified and available (as a compact unit) for intelligent and comprehensive service in these United States of America in ANY national or civil emergency"

I thought that a formation flight of uniform ships, piloted by women, and directed to the women of the UNITED STATES might be of "National Service" in

a. Spreading the gospel of aviation.
b. In rousing the dormant thought of the women in the United States to the realization that air defense is essential.
c. In rousing the dormant thought of the women in the United States to the realization that "PEACE" can only be had through PREPAREDNESS
1. the preparedness for defense against foreign invasion.
2. The preparedness for "Peace education" within our own borders - especially in the schools.

d. In the Flight, and its subsequent Aerial Program to bring to the consciousness of women:

1. The beauty of flying.
2. The safety of flying.
3. The saneness of flying
