TUESDAY NIGHT * ABOUT &:#0 * DO YOU KNOW
WHAT THAT MEANS? IT MEANS
7:30 ONLY CAPATALIZED.

My dearest sister Ora:--
We are in another throe of hot weather. Believe me it was downright HOT to-day.
Here's hoping tomorrow it will change - although in the morning I am going to Cloverfield and take some High Landings - ie dropping 1000 - 1500 - or 2000 feet into the field. It is always nice down there, and cool at Sawtelle.
That Mrs. Harvey, in Glendale, wants Mrs. Charles to come back and stay with her a while longer. I feel, now, that she should pay Mrs. Charles if she goes, and, if she does that, I think Mrs. Charles should go. They have a chauffeur, a nice modern home, and nothing much to do. All Mrs. Charles does is to be with her (Mrs. Harvey is resting under the impression that she is in a critical condition on account of her heart and therefore does not wish to be left at any time alone) but at the same time, feel that Mrs. Charles should be paid. Will let you know later about that.
Cara is still in Topeka. She should be as thin as a rail if hear melts the fat away! George thought she would be home this week.
Mamma had a very nice telegraphed letter from Port. In spite of his big job, and his hard work, he is nothing but a little boy ye. The letter was a very loving one, but I had to laugh a the end .........I'll go see if I can find it, and read the last sentence to you.........Mamma has put it away. Anyhow, it said something about the love that existed between them since they first became acquainted!
Oh, yest, I must tell you of a very nice compliment I heard about you - third handed (and I know Jim the Scotchman, will appreciate the source). E linor, the little girl over at Cara's of whom you, no doubt, have heard of through mamma, Cara and possibly Grandpa, fingerwaved my hair and she said John afterward remarked about how pretty it look. "BUT," he said, "you should see Aunt Ora. She is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my life. Her hair is the softest white: her skin is as beautiful as a little baby's: and she has the form of a young girl. I only wish I could find a girl like her!"
And now, would you like to hear a real, spicy, piece of news? Well H U R R N over to the next page and with gusto, and much smacking of lips, and swelling of head, and with joyousness and pride
