Excmo. Sr. Liedo. don,
Manuel Estrada Cabrera,
President, Guatemala Republic,
Guatemala City, Guatemala, C.A.

My dear Sir:

I am extremely sorry for not having fulfilled my promise to send to your Excellency a copy of my lecture on the "Art of Flying", and the reason for it is that I had been awaiting the opportunity to have the lecture published and then to send a printed copy; but as I have unfortunately not had the chance to do so, I enclose, herewith, a typewritten copy which I have recently made for the purpose.

I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your esteemed favor of the 19th of February last, in which your Excellency permitted me to have the honor to present your name to the Aero Club of America in order to become one of its members, which with great plesaure I did; and in connection with this, I enclose, herewith, a clipping of one of our leading dailies

As your Excellency would notice, I have again taken charge of the Moissant Aviation School since last April. We have now here with us Mr. Niles who has recently won the reputation of being the best flier in the world, considering the most wonderful and spectacular demonstrations which he has been performing, thus showing his exceptional skill in handling the Moisant Monoplane. Some of his performances are loop-the-loop, flying upside-down, head-dive, tail-drop, side-slip and rolling-over which is the hardest of them all.

As I intend to do some lecturing again next fall, may I ask your Excellency to honor me by sending me your photograph with your Excellency's signature accross the face of it so as to show the American people the picture of the most interested person and Executive of a Republic, in the development of aerial navigation in Central America.

I am sending to your Excellency, under separate cover, a copy of my new folder together with some clippings of newspapers, giving an account of a flight which Mr. Niles made recently.

Trusting to hear from your Excellency, I have the honor to remain, Dear Sir,

Most respectfully yours,

S. S. Jerwan
