Reiterates Belief Despite Denials In Capital of Island

Alexander Simms, a mild-mannered private pilot from Dayton, Ohio, who discovered what he believed to be a secret Nazi air base under construction in Haiti, flew through a driving rainstorm to Miami Saturday and reiterated his belief despite official Haitian denials.
He saw the activity in an iso-
and Mrs. Smims take a vacation flight every year. The 7,000-mile cruise through the West Indies cost $600 for the two, including gasoline, oil, living expenses and governmental fees.
"That's pretty reasonable," he said.
His plane is a Stinson. He left Nassau shortly before noon, ran into the rainstorm and covered much of the distance to Miami only 100 feet over the water in "terrific weather."
He expects to depart Tuesday for Dayton. While here he is visiting his father, Charles H. Simms, former newspaper owner of Dayton, who is staying at the King Cole hotel, Miami Beach.
