June 195h., 1942.

Dear Beatrice:

I am sending you with these lines the marvelous embroidery I spoke about to you the other afternoon, which is a real bargain and which I thought might do beautifully in the drawing-room of your new apartment, with the Chinese wallpaper, as a piano cover. It is French Eighteenth Century after a Chinese and was in the Collection of Staunislaus Jakowski, in Nanterre.

The embroidery is in our books at $850., but inasmuch as we are trying to liquidate certain things, I am almost certain Germain would accept around $200., - which you will agree is a real opportunity.

The embroidery might also be used most effectively as a "panneau" in the wall, or as a bedspread.

Would you kindly let me know how you like it and also the afternoon next week, we are having a "date".

In the meantime, many kind regards,

Faithfully,
