Dear Mr. Seligmann:

Please find herewith enclosed copy of letter dated July 13th received from Baron Cassel, together with copy of our acknowledgment to him.

For your convenience, we are also enclosing receipted invoice in the sum of $6,000. as he requests, and letter for your signature prepared by Mr. Galton and approved by your cousin.  If you are in agreement with it, please send this letter with the receipted invoice directly to Baron Cassel in the attached envelope.  In this connection, please note that both the letter and invoice are dated August 2nd.

On the other hand, if after talking the matter over with your cousin, you should wish to make any changes, we are appending copy of this letter marked "draft" for such purpose.

I acknowledge receipt of your letter of July 24th enclosing letter from Mr. Cassatt extending the consignment period of the Manet to December 31st, 1944.

Mr. Ewart of the British-American Art Center returned today the Degas drawing "Cavalier".  He again mentioned that he might ask us for some of the items again in September.
