Dear Mr. Seligmann:

Thank you very kindly for the photograph of the Catena portrait. The portrait has been admired very much by one of the critics here. I am happy it is not a religious subject, as it seems that this has been becoming a religious exhibition with all the religious paintings to show, and nothing to counterbalance it.

I want to thank you very kindly for being willing to loan this to me. I have made arrangements and am sending out invitations and announcements. I assure you it will be one of the most outstanding exhibits ever to be held in this country.

The opening will be on Monday March 14th and and the exhibit will remain through March 31st. After that you may expect to receive your painting back, although I hope to be able to do something with it.

Sincerely yours,
