September 17, 1946 Dear Sir: In answer to your letter of September 12, 1946, we hasten to let you know that we are interested mainly in paintings of the French school of the 19th and 20th centuries; also of the 15th, 16th, and 17th centuries; and in paintings of the foreign schools of early periods.
