New York, March 30, 1957

Monsieur Germain Seligmann,
Jacques Seligmann & Co. Inc.,
5 East 57th Street,
New York, N.Y.

Dear Mr. Seligman,

Receipt is acknowledged of your letter of March 18th, for which I thank you.

That the GIORGIONE was "outside your present activities" is quite acceptable to me. This is a Museum piece and should be redirected to that destination.

I have since received a photo of a beautiful Madonna by GIOVANNI BELLINI, painted on wood in 15th century, and still in its original frame. The price of this one is much more accessible and perhaps you would be interested in seeing the copy of this one.

I have plenty of time on Saturday and would be happy to call on you. You would be under no obligation whatsoever in granting me an interview.

With all best wishes, and hoping to hear from you again.

Very truly yours,
