November 2nd., 1942. My dear Mrs. Chatfield-Taylor: Since writing to you on October 7th., I have been thinking over the matter covered by our correspondence and I am wondering - as long as you suggested sending the painting to New York - whether it might not be well for you to do so, shipping it, however, to your attorney here, where I would be very glad to study it. This would have the great advantage, furthermore, of enabling me to discuss with him the different points I raised in my letter and which might have seemed a bit confusing at first glance. I am sure you will understand the spirit in which I am writing this, and, looking forward to hearing from you, Yours very sincerely, (Germain Seligmann) Mrs. Robert F. Chatfield-Taylor, X-9 Ranch, Vail, Arizona.
