My dear Miss Cieslak:

Your letter of October 30th requesting photographs of two paintings by GUSTAVE MOREAU, the property of this firm, has been duly received.

However, before complying with your wish, I would like to receive from you the assurance that if and when these paintings are mentioned, due credit to this firm will be given; furthermore, that they will not be reproduced or published without my written consent.

I feel certain that you will understand the purpose of these recommendations, and as soon as I will have heard from you accordingly, I shall be happy to forward the prints.

Answering your other query, we have had in the past other gouaches by Gustave Moreau, but these, belonging now to private collectors, the copyright to such reproductions no longer belongs to us.

Yours very sincerely,

Germain Seligman
