COLLEGE ART ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA 625 Madison Avenue, New York 22, N.Y. * Phone: Wickersham 2-0537 June 9, 1947 Jacques Seligmann & Co. Inc. 5 E. 57th St. New York, N.Y. Gentlemen: The College Art Association is pleased to announce that the first series of slide material, covering the history of painting from 1300 to the present time, is now available to members as well as non-members of the Association. The Microfilm Slide Project has been made possible largely through funds granted by the American Council of Learned Societies. The selection of the material has been passed on by a Committee of members of the College Art Association. Attached you will find a reprint of an article by Dr. Elizabeth Sunderland outlining the details of this project. Also attached you will find a sample strip of film showing the quality of the reproduction and a small sheet containing three labels showing the manner in which they will be furnished ready to be affixed on the slides. This slide material is now being prepared by University Microfilms who are ready to accept orders. The enclosed order form from them should be filled out with the necessary data on placing an order. Please note that all orders and inquiries should be addressed to University, Microfilms, 313 N. First Street, Ann Arbor, Michigan. This is an excellent opportunity to obtain the nucleus of a good slide collection, and I hope it may be useful to you. Sincerely yours, Frederick B. Deknatel Frederick B.
