CENTER SHOWCASE (cont.): in front, in the center, a God the Father in Mandorla, an enamel plaquette , very fine, one I am told of three only known ones. Perhaps late 11th c., c. 3 cm high.

Also, some other small enamels.

Also, a chess piece, ivory, quite fine, painted red, also probably 12th c.

LEFT SHOWCASE: Here, are three pieces which were exhibited at the Bibliotheque Nationale in 1958:

Joel, -ivory of 11th c.

Another ivory of the same period, broken in half, showing a Female figure, standing, facing to the left.

A small plaque, hardly 2 cm high in steraite (sp.?).

(The Joel has been identified, but I have seen no mention of the two others so far.)

In the back: a Large upright, important in size, Ivory Plaque, of the 14th c. in three or four tiers, however, not very deep and not very fine in quality.

Next to it on the right, a more rectangular and oblong Ivory Plaque, also of the 14th c. of very fine quality in two tiers. Both ivory plaques probably part of a diptych.

In front on the left: an Ivory Crucified Christ, , head and body, arms missing, of fine quality, is considered as Spanish, though personnally I consider it French- and of 13th c.(?)

Next to it- a small seated female figure, 10 cm high, it might represent the Virgin, Pieta, with the dead Christ on her lap, or perhaps holding the Child. Extremely fine. French, end of 14 th c.
