O'T:M

December 3rd, 1932

Dear Mr. Crowninshield,

A number of friends and clients of ours (both in Paris and New York) have collected during the past seven or eight years a number of modern French water colors and drawings that they have no room to hang in their houses, and have consequently asked us to organize an auction in which would be included only works of interest and of good provenance - paintings, drawings and water colors.

It occurred to me that you might have among your collection several works that you might wish to include, and if you would care to discuss this matter with me in the next day or so, I would be very happy to give you what assistance I could, as the sale is tentatively planned for the 21st of this month, and of course for cataloguing and other matters I would like to know your wishes by the first days of next week.

I feel that these days immediately before Christmas might be used profitably for this sale and as a number of really interesting works are included, I feel it will cause a great deal of interest and might possibly be a satisfactory method of disposing of pictures that one cannot use at the moment.

I would be very thankful to you if you would let me know your wishes in this matter at your earliest convenience.

Looking forward to the pleasure of seeing you in the near future,

Please believe me to be

Yours very truly,

(James St.L. O'Toole)
