Dear Mr. Curtis:

I have often heard of the very fine Ingres drawing which you own, and as I am very much interested in drawings by this master and, as a matter of fact, am studying them with particular care, I should be infinitely grateful if you would authorize me to see it.

As I plan to be in Boston the very beginning of next week, I shall avail myself of this opportunity to telephone you with the hope that it will be convenient for you to receive me.
