America is at the crossroads of a spiritual center....

The American artist, therefore, is a spiritual Citizen of the World....

The problem of being an American is unimportant.  They could paint their pictures anywhere.  But it is important that they [[strikethrough]] had [[/strikethrough]] ^[[have]] the background of the American Dream.
