Supt with the information that Lt Col Custer USA is not at Morehead City N.C. nor has not been since I have been on duty in this Sub District Dec 21st 1865. I cannot find on inquiring any boy answering to the name of William Brown son of Evelyn. Had Lt Cook stated the age of the boy place County and State he came from who his former owner was it would have aided in the inquiry.
