Fluoridation Issue Again Faces Council
Hornell - The delayed report of the fluoridation committee headed by Alderman Robert Lent (R) of the Second Ward is expected to be presented at the meeting of the Hornell Common Council tomorrow at 8 p.m. The report was delayed due to the illness of Alderman Lent last month.
The question of fluoridation for the Hornell water supply has become an extremely controversial issue within the last few weeks. Approving of the measure are the local Parent-Teacher units, the Hornell Medical and Dental Associations and both medical staffs of the local hospitals. Many members of both the dental and medical societies have appeared before P-TA groups explaining the benefit to the city's children.
There are, however, groups against the measure and have appeared before the Council to protest against fluoridation of the city water supply. 
Several of the aldermen have been approached by their constituents by both sides and Alderman Marshall Gurnsey (?) First Ward, has expressed the opinion that he does not feel that the matter should be decided by the council.
