FANFARE.....MUSIC....ROAR OF PLANES.....

ANNOUNCER: The roar of four hundred planes flying in a gigantic sky parade over Manhattan this afternoon officially welcomed the National Aviation Show -- opening tonight in New York's Grand Central Palace. The national exhibit, the first in seven years, again turns the attention of America to her empire of the skies, and to her record of air achievement. In salute to that record we present this afternoon a brief review of highlights and personalities from the world of flight....glimpses of aviation through the eyes of men and women who are making its history.

Waiting to speak to you in our studios today are Captain Frank Hawkes, renowned war-ace and record holding pilot, Lt. Richard Aldworth, superintendent of the world's busiest airport at Newark, New Jersey, Louise Thaden, winner of the 1936 Bendix Transcontinental Air Races, [[strikethrough]] Betty Scott[[/strikethrough]] Blanche Stuart Scott, the first woman to fly [[strikethrough]] the continent [[/strikethrough]], and from Chicago Capt. Eddie Rickenback [[Rickenbacker]], famous war time pilot and peacetime air expert and Columbia's special narrator, Bob Trout.
