We would be glad and happy to hear from every woman interested in doing her part in any emergency this country may face in the future. We know the [[sic]] are thousands of young women who are ready ahn [[sic]] anxious to do their share in the preservation of this great and wonderful country and we are looking forward to hearing from you. In closing may I say, I consider it a great honor to be here on this occassion [[sic]] to present Blanche Stuart Scott with one of the highest offices in The Women Flyers of America - and I wish to extend my thanks to Commissioner of Commerce Mr Harold S.W. McFarland and his Deputy Commissioner Mr. Harry Gaymor [[sic]] as well as the radio Station W S A Y and the Mutal broadcasting system for making it possible to explain on nation wide hookup the aims and object of the Women Flyers of America - I thank you.

Mr. McFarland - And now I am going to call on Miss Scott. Perhaps she will tell us a few of her early experiences. 

Miss Scott - After sitting here and hearing all these nice things that have been said - It is a little embarrassing and rather overwhelming. First may I say how much I deeply appreci [[sic]] the honor done me and add to that that I feel exceedingly humble. For I assure you that thirty years ago, a red headed freckled face tomboy who decided to learn to fly had no idea of making history, neither did she have any idea of being of service to her country. To her flying was a new thrill - something for excitment [[sic]] - some thing sensational to do - and she made life miserable for every one in aviation until in sheer desperation Mr. Glenn Curtiss taught
