I was as limp as a handful of wet spaghetti and could scarcely get out the words, "This foolish woman wants to kill me."

George was horrified, "What the Hell for? He demanded.
"She says I've told lies about her and her son. She claims to be Ralph Johnstone's widow."

The women stood there for a moment saying nothing...her eyes wild.
George looked at her closely then said, "I recognize you. You were Johnston's mistress and [[strikethrough]] if [/strikethrough]] the affair was really starting to heat up. He said that if he could he'd divorce his wife and marry you. He was killed before this happened. You were the woman who was trying every possible way to break up his marriage. You are a common chest. [[cheat]]"

She trembled with anger, "You're a liar!, "she screamed.
[[strikethrough]] ? [/strikethrough]] Would you like to have me prove it," He demanded.

With the gun in one hand, he pointed to the mechanic who was workind [[working]] on the plane down at the end of the field. "That man happens to be Johnston's mechanic. He was his mechanic from the time he started to fly until he was killed. He knows the story. He knows you. Should we call him and put the facts straight?"

She realized she was trapped. She shook her heat negatively.
George turned to me and asked, "Do you want this woman locked up for attempted murder or at least threatening murder?"

Heaven's no," I said, "I think she's really nutty as a nut."
"I know that, George said, "but she's is also damn dangerous and should be put away before she either shoots someone else or herself.

I was so relieved by the way things had worked out I was both willing and anxious to forget the whole miserable mess so I said, "Look George, I don't think locking her up will accomplish a damn thing except to make her bitter and resentful. Further I don't want to get mixed up in anything like that. I think we should let her go!
