Dear Sir
Yours of 11th inst came to hand calling attention to defficency in case of woolen goods of 129 1/4  yds paid for by Col J A Ellison 

In answer I paid the agent for the manufacturer Miss Brooks & Bros of Philada for 1004 yds of the goods which were paked in case No 5

I applied to Miss Brooks & Bros for the defficiency you report they show me by their books there were 25 per in this case when they Sold it to me, when received by me I shipped the case without being opened, There has been complaint made that [[?]] goods have been [[?]]
