Monday Dec. 27 -
[[strikethrough]] May 31 [[/strikethrough]]

9 A.M- app. with Lucy La Maung for sitting for portrait - Poor, preliminary study. Hope to do better tomorrow. Had lunch with Mr. & Mrs. La Maung - Native food - highly seasoned. Pots of water to wash hands on table before & after lunch. La Maung eats native style with his fingers.

Three charming children - all very tall for Burmese, Kervin 6. Beautiful daughter - 11 & son of 15. Lucy is only 32 & handsome as is her husband.

Saw a Burmese film after lunch with Lucy. It was well done & extremely well acted. The photography was good, too. The story had [[?]] & wasn't worse than some Western (far-fetched) films I have seen.

Eve. at 6 - cocktails at Mr. Mrs. Irving Licht. Interesting new people. Mr. Mrs. Chen Loo, Chinese journalists both studied in the States - degrees - Wife brighter than husband. Own a big house
