It is successful, I think, & a fine likeness. I want to take it with me tomorrow & show it to the Minister - so that he will not feel that his time had been wasted & further more, to gain his confidence so that he will give me the necessary time I may need for the portrait. After 10.30 - Max Lerner came in to say goodbye & to tell us of this evening's dinner with U. Nu - who has presented him with a lovely Ivory figure of a Burmese dancing girl. Max seems to have made a very fine impression here & was happy. 239 U. Nu.
