Dear Lester:

Your letter of the 13th just arrived this morning.

Thank you for the kind words and the encouragement you offer.

To answer your questions:

#1. No Title Page or Table of contents.
#2. No Preface or a Forward.
#3. No Copywrite.
#4. I sent a list of illustrations with page numbers and have a letter which acknowledged receipt of same, ask Scribner's about it.
#5. An index is necessary.

Sending the book to Scribner's was the result of a suggestion from Mrs. Arthur Lang, a new Sister-in-law, and we both expected Mr. Wheelock would return it with comments and suggestions, which he did not do.

I will get busy and furnish everything except the Forward. I would appreciate it if you would take the time to write it.

The assistant Librarian for Science in our Los Angeles Public Library, informed me that the Library needs books on Aeronautics and Aviation, and the lady who has assisted me, was informed that something like 165,000 Libraries would buy anything published that even remotely refered to the fifteenth anniversary of powered flight. Indicating there will be a market for the book, if published.

Gen'l Frank Lahm, published a book, Ronold Press, on the growth of the Air Service and Air Corps. I purchased a copy for the $2.75 and I thing his book is much larger than mine.
