Dear Mr. Knabenshue:

Confirming telephone conversations between you and Lieut. Colonel Tom C. Rives of this Office, we are this date requesting the Director of the Aircraft Radio Laboratory, Wright Field, Dayton, Ohio, to ship the following equipment to Mr. John D. Driscoll, National Park Service, Manteo, N. C.:

1 - Transmitter RCA-AVT-15
1 - Receiver, Lear-AMR-1
1 - Microphone, Commercial type for use with AVT-15
1 - Set of Instruction Books on above equipments
1 - Set of Miscellaneous insulators and antenna wire to permit installation in a Fairchild 8 (folding wing) type airplane

The above equipment will not be transferred to the National Park Service but will be lent to you for such time as you may need it. This can be done in accordance with the 1st Indorsement of the Adjutant General's Office, dated June 5, 1940, to the Chief Signal Officer, AG 413.42 M-D, on letter to Secretary of Interior, June 5, 1940, WD 413.42 M-D, Subject: Loan of U. S. Signal Corps Phones, stating:
