UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR NATIONAL PARK SERVICE Camp Wright, Manteo, N.C. August 6 1941. Mr. Roy Knabenshue, Room 5039, National Park Service South Interior Building, Washington, D.C. Dear Mr. Knabenshue: Since returning from the trip to Gettysburg I have been checking over the Autogiro and find that both of the Tachometers have gone bad. I was at Langley Field yesterday and secure one new one, in fact it was the only one they had in stock, and I will place that in the rear cockpit today, naturally the one in the front will still be out of commission. Will you kindly secure for me either at Bolling Field or from some other source another Tachometer so ship will be in order, for your guidance I will give you the following information: A.C. U.S. Army Type C-5 Serial # AC 35-919 Made by Elgin National Watch Co. Order # 35-30695 Mfg part # TH 000 AC No AN 5520 Hoping you may be sucessful [[successful]] in this, I am Sincerely yours J. D. Driskill Assoc. Regional Pilot.
