THE DIRECTOR, NATIONAL PARK SERVICE

MEMORANDUM for Mr. Wirth:

As I understand it, Mr. Driskill will be leaving the Service about November 1, and if the two autogiros and the Fairchild are to be stored in the building at Fort Washington, Mr. Driskill can fly all the equipment to Fort washington.

The two autogiros can land on the field within the Fort but the Fairchild will have to be landed on a large field about three-quarter's of a mile from the Fort and the wings taken off and the chassis taxied to within the Fort. This can be done without much difficulty.

All of the spare parts and spare engines now in storage at Manteo and at Richmond can be transported to Fort Washington by truck.

The War Department have some fifty steel filling cabinets stored in our building and the door is locked and the key in their possession. These filling cabinets can be stored in the building next to our hangar.

If anything is to be done about this matter, steps should be taken at once to get Mr. Driskill to fly the equipment up here.

I will be away from the office beginning tomorrow morning and perhaps as late as November 1.
