MEMORANDUM for Mr. Knabenshue.

      Complying with your verbal request to 

Mr. Cannon for your file has been reviewed 

and I find that you were first employed in 

the National Park Service under Emergency 

Conservation work in November 1933, and 

have had continuous employment in the Park 

Service under Emergency Conservation and 

Civilian Conservation Corps funds since 

that date.  Accordingly, you are eligible

for classification under the Ramspeck Act 

and in your present position under 

Executive Order 8743.  You are eligible 

under Executive Order 8833 for promotion,

transfer or assignment to any position 

which is now in the classified Civil 

Service or to any position which is 

covered into the classified service 

by Section 1 of Executive Order 8743.

Classification in your present 

position or in any position to which you may be 

transferred would have to follow the 

procedure as outlined under Civil 

Service Departmental Circular No.291
