Dear Mr. Fryer:

      I have your letter of January 23.  I am very glad indeed to receive it, as I was beginning to gain the impression that as far as you and Dave were concerned, I was the forgotten man.

      We shipped you a day or so ago another Lyconing motor for use with the stearman.

       I received a letter also from Dave yesterday giving me a very clear idea of the hop you and he had taken together.  I hope that you will regard Dave in the same light as I see him.  What he lacks in college education he has acquired through hard study and practical experience, and he is also a very keen observer and has a clear analytical mind.  I regard him as one of the outstanding pilots in this country, but unfortunately, due to his lack of technical training, he will not get the universal recognition he deserves.

      A representative from the Kellett Autogiro Company called on me yesterday and inquired about Dave, and stated that they had a job open as test pilot and if he would care to accept it, he could have it.  I asked him what it would pay, and he said around $5,000.00 per year. I could not refuse to give Dave's address, and he will doubtless hear from them, but I feel certain that he will be sensible and stay where he is.

       I am asking the Air Corps for the 175 yards of what is known as- "zephyr sail cloth", and this amount of cloth will be sufficient to cover the fusilage, controls and surface.

       Concerning the possibility of my coming out there, I would be pleased to do so, if it could be arranged immediately, as I have been offered a position with the National Inventors Council at double my present salary, and have indicated that I would be willing to take the job.  It will probably take several weeks before they can get the papers cleared and by that time, I could be out there and back again, for the job of repairing the
