IDAHO

1. TITLE - DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS. All promotional and regulatory authority over aeronautics in Idaho is vested in the department of public works. The legislators in Idaho have expressed the desire to closely coordinate automotive and aircraft transportation facilities within the state and hence, deemed it advisable to place both activities under the direction of one department.

2. POWERS AND DUTIES - The commissioner of the Department of Public Works is charged with the duty of promoting aviation, and is authorized to receive any Federal aid granted. Broad control over aeronautical activities is granted.

3. FINANCE - Direct appropriation, receipts from aircraft motor fuel tax, and revenues from licenses.

ILLINOIS

1. TITLE - ILLINOIS AERONAUTICS COMMISSION and ILLINOIS COMMERCE COMMISSION. Jurisdiction over aeronautics is divided between the Illinois Aeronautics and the Illinois Commerce Commissions, the latter body dealing only with common carriage. The Illinois Aeronautics Commission is made up of five members appointed by the Governor. The members serve without compensation. The active work is carried on by a paid secretary.

2. POWERS AND DUTIES - (a) The aero commission has broad encouragement powers. (b) The two commissions have complete control over all aeronautical activities and facilities within the State. (c) Broad rule and regulation-making powers are granted. (d) Full power over air traffic rules granted. (e) Both Commissions have full power as to hearings
