Krasner:  Oh definitely.  Very definitely.  Put it this way.  If Hoffman broker up the Academy then Pollock broke up Hoffman, and by Hoffman I mean working from the Cubist, bearing in mind that Hoffman was teaching - was principles of Cubism.  And Pollock once more broke that up.  And that would have been the point I'd speak of.

Forge:  Did you work closely with him?  Did you share a studio with him?

Krasner:  Never.  Heavens no.  That wouldn't have worked for a second.  Very separate studios.  He'd invite me into his, and I'd him into mine.  No, we couldn't have worked in a studio together.

Forge:  Did you find when youfirst met him that you already had a common field of interest?  I think that's why we did move together is that we had that much common field in interest, in many directions with regard to painting and many other thoughts.  Very definitely so.
