Understand from Mother that Pete is showing improvement, but does not show enough to suit as yet. I hope the weather will warm up and think "old man sunshine" and warm weather will do him a lot of good.

This market is some problem, am beginning to think that my friend at Hornblowers' must be some sort of mindreader: about two weeks ago, I was talking to him over the telephone, at which time I asked if he did not think it was pretty near time to do some buying of the good stocks: His reply was no, but, if you are willing to take a three to five point profit in a weeks time, sell. Some of the "blue chips" and other first class stocks closings today were: American Telephone $88 1/8 Ex. $2.25 about the 20th. Drug Inc., $23. Cons. Gas of N.Y. $36.00 First Natl Stores. $37.00 Ex. 62 1/2 cents about the 6th. New England Telephone. Ex. $2.00 about the 6th or 10th, at $79 1/2. Have you any brilliant brainstorms. It would seem that most any one of the stocks listed above should move with a bang, upward soon. It would seem if they want very much lower, we might just as well burn up any cash we have, if any.

Canadian exchange is quoted at 12.1/4 in tonights Transcript. We were able to get about 14 7/8 for cash exchange in our local Trust Company. last Thursday. That paid for the gas and garage expenses, with a little left over for a few drinks.

If you have any replies that should be given at once, answer as quick as you did in the middle of the month.

Best regards to all,

Your brother,

Bill
