Dear Raymond:

Received your letter of the 12th, was very much suprised to hear that you were laid up too. Henry had his, but is up and feeling better today.

Have not got much to offer as to news, with exception of fact that turnpike is finished to Overbooke. (Wellesley-Natick Line.) but not at #2 Main Street, on lawn and back yard. Granit wall has been replaced properly, new cement sidewalk replacing old one on Worcester Road, plus new on on Main Street, almost to our line; also got new one from sidewalk to door, on account of new one (sidewalk) being about inch higher than old one.

Have spent two days in Boston this week on State and Federal Income Taxes. Could not cut down State Tax: This cost us $102.71 of which, I expect to get back about $26.00 ( Abdelmaseh. $12.00-Howard $14.00). In the case of Federal Tax would say that most of time was spent there. While it is admitted verbally, that it is a shame that we have to pay Corporation rate, it cannot be changed at once. In regards to the annual $2400. payment, would say it is still a question as to the amount being allowed as a deduction. However we will not be worried about the 1932 return; even though the usual $3000. is not allowed this year. Depreciation will be allowed on all Real Estate: this amounts to $5597.60 . Did not want to take this, as if anything is sold, amount of depreciation charged would have to be added to sale price. If you do not charge depreciation and property is sold, Government will insist that amount equal to a deduction will be charged. Therefore it might as well be taken. Our tax without depreciation allowing deduction of the $2400. would have been $138.21-Without allowing deduction of $2400. it would have been $468.34 . Was sent to Dep. Coll. by friend at Hornblowel & Weeks. I expect to get some results in our favor if possible to do so. If so the Trust will have to pay for a quart for the Collector if he would like one.

Best regards to all,
Your brother,
Bill
