As to the market; it has gone up quite a bit, but we are not in on it. My friend does not think so much of it for investing, but, thinks it is a good time for speculating. He also states the people who are buying now, cannot get cash enough to pay, but, are using stock now held by them as for[[far]] as possible, for margin covering. 

If I can drag a couple of thousand out of the Trust Savings, as soon as ex-interest. Will try and pay same for account of taxes, in advance. Understand Town is anxious to receive, at present time, with interest at not more than six per cent. Savings Bank has reduced rate to 3 1/2%, presume Trust will be the same.

Understand Aunt Sarah arrived here about 9.30 last night. Mother said they had stated it was a very pleasant trip. 

Hope your particular department is showing better prospects for you, than stated in your last two letters. Was talking with Jack Gavin. a short while ago. He stated that there wasnt[[wasn't]] any business in his line, but, understood that things were picking up at Dennissions. Hope this is true, as it might improve renting houses, also other lines. 

Lizzie Knight. has just paid the interest due today; states that his beer business has been quite satisfactory. Underestand that Tierney. owner of the other hotel, applied for license, but died on Saturday. Told Lizzie he would not have any competition now; stated that his class of trade would have been different anyway. 

As to beers; at Hotel Show, tried Bud-Schlitz-Golden Rod and Trommer (Brooklyn) for out of State products: Golden Rod seems to be the most popular around here. They all tasted good to me. 

I received the picture of Peter, for which we thank you. Think he is a better looking fellow than the rest of the family.
