August 18, 1933 Dear Raymond: Thanks for the clipping in regards to Corporation Tax. I enclose a copy of assets of December 31, 1932. According to this return; without obligations, we would be subject to to a tax of about $98.27. I am going to to object by letter, also personal appearance, and, hope to get out at zero. Have(?) any other news to offer, exect(?), that we had planned to take a short trip to New York about four AM. to day with a return Saturday: however have a prospect for #72 Pearl Street, which meant to have water turned on, also finish the clean up of all empty houses, which I started on last week: this was completed today; expect tenent to start tomorrow; hope it isnt balooney [[isn't baloney]] . Have received $26.00 from Trowbridge for account of months advance from August 15th. He stated he would pay balance on August 19th, one more reason to stay home: Received letter from him, stating that if he doesnot get someroomers, that rent is too high: his idea is to chissle five dollars off at once. I was asked to allow him a five dollar reduction for the next two months, provided he gets no roomers; we have agreed on that, but I am going to try and get the ten, tomorrow; this amount is due. Hope that Mother is enjoying herself, also, that all are enjoying the best of health, Your brother, Bill.
