December 12, 1933.

Dear Raymond:

I have your letter of the 11th. We are having cold weather here too, it was 4 above this morning. 14 above at three oclock. Understand the new heater is using about 7 gallons per day. Understand that new heaters at Pearl street are very satisfactory, however have add in to let No. 76 from December 15th: Willie Trowbridge. is going to leave.

Sorry I did not date your check, have checked up on the others and find that all were dated.

I presume you have received your certificate from the Natick Bank, as they were to be mailed from there on December 10th.

I am not in business for the estate with Henry, while would like to be in as long as there may be income from other sources than rooms, am quite sure that we might get along like two strange bull dogs. The touch for cash came as expected. I said no, later he had a long talk with Lill and convinced her that if we did not have a license to sell booze, it would be very hard to interest one on a purchase. To make a long story short, have loaned him $1000. (cost of license), but, not as usual, this is a collateral loan with 100 shares of Evans Products Co. also 100 shares Electric Power Corporation. I hope the situation will improve, but advised Henry to go slow on purchases, on account of present high prices, as you state, and he admits, until after Congress meets, it looks like less tax after that, if the President and committee have it their way. Henry say price of case of Medford Rum wholesale is $62.00

I notice the Canadian situation from yesterday was 7/8 to 1, but will have to write to bank for average rate. Not a bad idea, but have not found whether or not they lost anything on U.S. funds, if they were cashed at Willie's hotel by Archie dont think they would, but if cashed at a bank would lose, also if Willie cashed them personally.

I enclose the check for $200. in liquidation, also receipt to sign for $350. instead of waiting later in the month. Reducing Henrys' note to $800.00 at the same time.

Will talk stocks as soon as rush is over.

Your brother,
Bill.
