Dear Billy,

Yeh, I haven't written anything or anybody for many weeks or months--but if you felt like I do youd probably do the same--ears still ringing badly and although I'M getting used to it because that is all I can do about it I don't feel like much of anything let alone writing. Furthermore for some obscure reason I always seem to catch cold easily--guess it is a hangover from the pneumonia. Just got out after anpther one of a weeks' duration and feel shakey yet from it. In spite of the ringing though, the hearing isn't any worse than when I quit flying......

Just wrote a birthday letter to mother. Hope she is really feeling well..

What you say about Phil and Lills' spoiling the man of him is true only its about 200% stronger than you put it. If that young man isn' shaken out of it he'll absolutely another Ernest(and Rosann) Too bad Lill herself doesn't see just that.

About those mortgages--I cant see why McCann and Galvin wouldn't want to get out into a lesser rate through the Home Loan Act--if they are eligible? Tough about Pisci and Abdel ...Wish there was some way to slvage as much as could be saved and get out from under them especially. I make the same old point that real estate as such or goods of similar sort are all right but mortgages to be paid from now on are no good on the contrary. Because, of course, the dollars that they will be paid off in are going to be worth less and less in purchasing power. Wish we could liquidate all our mortgage moneywhether or not it were to be distributed or put into a reasonable equity.

In my income tax report I put $1600 that I received fro the Trust---$1000 in the Hill case and $600 in the mother account. This was not entered in the column of receipts however and thus not taxable. Merely made it a matter of record as I did last year. Hope you came out all right on your returns this year too.

Our street name in Short Hills is changed from Park Way to Wayside. Try to use this for a while so the gazooks will get used to it will you, for mail:
