Dear Helen:

Better for me to peck this machine so you can read it.......I know my writingis painful...

You have a reservation to Chicago from Newark on the United Boeing plane leaving at10:00 Daylight saving time 7/15. They will hold this until the 10th or 12th from me, but it should, of course, be picked up before if you can settle the details after reading this letter, viz.,

The American Airways at 250 Boylston St can fix your ticket, or for further information you can phone Comm 6130. The fare from Newark to Chi is $47.95 one way and $86.31 rd trip. If you go from Boston there is a reduction in a through cost on the Boston NY leg, and their plane leaves Boston at 8:00 DST to connect with the United 10 o'clock DST on any day but Sunday. In other words if you pick up the ticket at the AA office in Boston tell them to notify the Newark reservation in the name of Helen O'B.

We'd want you to be with us at Short Hills but you don't know the latest hot news--yesterday the family went to Ocean Beach on Long Island for the month of July. I follow this Friday. So,o,o,o- at Short Hills all there will be will be a closed maison full of moth balls and paradichloride. So what? I'd say come to the beach only it is 45 miles east of NY by train and then a ferry, on a three hour schedule, to a town where there are no autos. AND the damned cottage is not big enough anniehoo..... Why didn't you make it last Sunday or postpone it to August.

Well you are a good sport and I think you will enjoy the haul to Chicago in every way except the heat...... at Chi. I'm writing this between interruptions and it's hard to follow the idea I had in mind--anyway write me back now before I leave if you want me to do anything about the ticket at this end, and tell me if you can dope out any way we can connect at this end--for instance when are you returning? Cause I don't think we'll be down after the end of the month, although it depends on the cottage being available at a reasonable price and my having said price.... Heck, this has been whacked out over three hours with buttinskys, and the RFD carrier is due and I can't help it if it doesn't make sense and so so1 ong and love to you and all,
