and fennel it's really good when uh little children have stomachache and peppermint when they have, feel bad in the stomach.
[00:22:26]
That's all but in the moment I can't remember, for medical purposes. Of course I have herbs in the garden like thyme, uh sweet marjoram, uhm, parsley, chives, dill,
[00:22:43]

[00:22:45]
{SPEAKER name="J. L. Harris"}[Jimmy Lee Harris]
Ms. Anderson are those some of the same plants you use? Like the dandelion and the, do you use any of those in the,
[00:22:49]
in the teas and things that you prepare?

[00:22:53]
{SPEAKER name="Maria Agner"}
No, I didn't know the dandelion is, but I think she showed me her plants since I've been here,
[00:23:02]
of the dandelion. But it's another herb, that I know is real good is rue.

[00:23:12]
{SPEAKER name="J. L. Harris"}
Rue?

[00:23:13]
{SPEAKER name="Maria Agner"}
My oldest child she was, from, well six months
[00:23:20]
she used to have convulsions and some of the elderly people would tell me that it was worms.
[00:23:29]
What I would give her, garlic, or I would uh, cook it down in syrup like my grandmother used to do,
[00:23:39]
and give it to her. Well that would ease her, but after she got school age of six years old.
[00:23:48]
She went to school one day and when she came back, after school, she was out on the porch, and she come in having a convulsion again.
[00:23:57]
And I had some rue that a neighbour had gave me, and I brew a tea out of it and give it to her, and she haven't had another convulsion since.
[00:24:08]
And that's, and she is at the age of fifty-four.

[00:24:13]
{SPEAKER name="J. L. Harris"}
Mhm. Thats amazing. What about other plants that you use like mullein? What do you use a mullein for?

[00:24:21]
{SPEAKER name="Maria Agner"}
Well a mullein is good for swelling, my grandmother used to use it for swelling.
[00:24:28]
But after I got believing in herbs and all I would I got some one day and I boil it.
[00:24:38]
I used to swell from arthritis in my knees and ankles and all, and it come to me use some vinegar and epsom salt in it.
[00:24:49]
And I got to boiling it down and I would take the leaves out and bathe my knees and all in this, mullein, and epsom salt, and vinegar and I stop swelling.
[00:25:04]
It finally got me to where I don't swell anymore.

[00:25:09]
{SPEAKER name="J. L. Harris"}
So that was a combination that just came to you?

[00:25:12]
{SPEAKER name="Maria Agner"}
Yeah that combination just came to me, by the epsom salt and the vinegar.
