QUALIFICATIONS AND HISTORY OF OFFICERS.

Captain Arthur Raymond Brooks.

United States Air Service.

Graduate of Framingham Public Schools.

Graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1917, with degree of B.S.

Enlisted in the United States Army July 23,1917.

Trained on all types of aircraft in Canada, Texas and France.

Passed Reserve Military Aviator's Test January 25, 1918.

Commissioned second lieutenant February 25, 1918.

On active service with American Expeditionary Forces, in France, From March 12th, 1918 to July 29th, 1919, and on the front from May 24th, 1918 with second Pursuit Group.

Served as Flying Officer in 139th Pursuit Squadron, under the Ace, Captain David E. Putnam. Promoted to 1st Lieutenancy and later to Captain. Made Commanding Officer of 22nd Pursuit Squadron.

Officially credited with the destruction of six enemy planes and destroyed four others that were too far behind the lines to be confirmed, consequently recoded as an ACE.

Awarded the Distinguished Service Cross and received a personal citation from the First Army Air Service Commander.

At present Captain Brooks is Commanding Officer of the 95th Pursuit Squadron, Kelley, Field , Number Two, San Antonio Texas. This Squadron was the first to operate on the American Front in France.
