CHESTER DALE
THE PLAZA, NEW YORK

May 22, 1947.

Mr. Germain Seligmann,
5 East 57th Street,
New York City.

Dear Mr. Seligmann:

In reply to your letter I wish to advise you that the two Braques to which you refer form part of a large group, from my collection, of 20th century French pictures which occupy three larger galleries at the Art Institute of Chicago, and are there on, at least, an indefinite loan. I never expect to bring them back, so consequently none of them are for sale.

Sincerely yours,

Chester Dale
