Dear Mr. Davis:

As per your request the lovely watercolor by Delacroix representing the "Rock of Tangiers" was turned over today to the Railway Express Company, and I hope it will reach you in good condition in due time.

Furthermore, I hope it will appeal to Mrs. Davis.

As you know, Delacroix headed the group of the "Romantiques" and interestingly enough this small work so spontaneously carried out has all the characteristics of fluidity and the atmospheric qualities which the impressionists were striving so hard to grasp twenty years later.

This charming work was in some of the leading Paris collections, Choquet, Henri Rouart, and Ernest Rouart, these all men whose collections stood for taste and quality, and thus set a standard difficult to equal.

Looking forward to hearing further from you,

Yours very sincerely,

(Germain Seligman)
