CMH[[?]]R

April 30th, 1938

Dear Sir:

Your kind letter of April 16th has just reached us, having been forwarded by our Paris office.

We are very sorry to let you know that we di [[did]] not see howwe [[how we]] could cooperate with you along the ideas which you wrote about. We have found business here very slow, and so many exhibitions have been organized in this country during the past years that we find the public is getting a little tired of them.

It seems to us that it would be better if your exhibition were organized directly within the walls of the French Building at the 1939 Fair, or in the French Line Building.

Please understand that we would have considered it a privilege to cooperate with you in the matter of the proposed exhibition, but our activities have taken a turn which keeps us away from exhibitions.

Assuring you of our appreciation for your kind interest, and hoping to have the pleasure of seeing you soon again,

Please believe me

Yours very truly,

(C. M. de Hauke)
