Dear Miss de Groot:

I hope you will not be offended by the contents of this letter, but allow me to prefix it by saying that I think you know well by now the deep regard I have for your collection and the sensitive pleasure you have had through the years in forming it.

Since your collection has been hung in the Metropolitan Museum, I have had various inquiries, particularly regarding the very fine Lautrec, "L'Anglais au Moulin Rouge" which I believe you purchased as recenlty as last year.

Would you consider selling it if an interesting buyer and satisfactory terms could be reached.

I repeat again that I hope you do not mind my asking you this and trust that I may hear from you shortly regarding this matter.

With sincere appreciation for your kind interest,

Believe me to be

Yours respectfully,

(Robert M. Levy)
