My dear Mrs. Parker:

The Midtown did not advise me that they were going to send for those watercolors, but I think I can explain what happened. At the time of the American Watercolor Society Exhibition clain tickets for the three rejected watercolors were sent to me here and I forwarded them to the Midtown requesting that gallery to pick up the watercolors and use them as additional material for the six months during which I agreed to exhibit with them. If you will recall, I wrote you to that effect and you replied that your man had already claimed the watercolors, so the Midtown didn't get them. You were prefectly right in looking after my interests and the Midtown should have written me at the time that they still wanted the watercolors.

My contract with them expires April first. At that time I shall be happy to have the seven watercolors returned to you, that is if you are still interested in my work. Since you haven't been able to do anything with it as yet, you may be glad of the opportunity to check me off your list and it seems that they are not going to let me go without getting unpleasent about it. At any rate, let me hear from you.

I am enclosing Mrs. Read's report of the Brooklyn show which possible you did not see and I shall ask you, please, to return it with your reply to this letter. Many, many thanks.

Most cordially,
Walt Dehner
