ALLIED STORES: Can we'deliver the goods' to the Allied Stores. I agree with you, that is the question ! But, if our designers are not capable of designing what you have in mind, can't you find others who would be? I fully realize the importance in every way of this new order and do not believe that I am dismissing it by so flippant a remark. Is there, however, another way or another angle to this question, and if Ramond Loewy (I am just sighting him as an example) were the only one capable of doing the job, what objection would you have to going to him? He need not know for whom it is. It seems to me that your first contact with this huge enterprise is so important a one that no effort should be spared to carry it out successfully their wishes. Again I repeat that I am 4000 miles away and unable thus to judge the problem in its entirety, and I must leave it to you.

MISS SAUNDERS: I mailed to her in care of you the papers she was kind enough to send over. It is difficult a task to judge the interest of an interview by only seeing it piece-meal and I would be therefore, ever-so-thankful to her if she could see fit to send me her whole material as she intends suggesting it to the Editor of "The New Yorker".

With best regards to you and Mr. Dayyan, I am
Yours very sincerely,
