Gentlemen:

On last Saturday Mr. Jules Glaenzer brought me to your galleries and I saw some very fine paintings.

I am interested in buying some of them and would like to have the ones I shall enumerate below sent out on approval. I do not know the procedure by which you entrust such important works to a person, but I should like to establish my credit with you in order to make this possible. I can refer you to the Guaranty Trust Company, Mr. Bennett, at the 44th Street branch. Also to Mr. Glaenzer, who introduced me to you. Also to Mr. DeYoung at the Bank of America in Beverly Hills. If this is not satisfactory, would you please communicate with me care of the Universal Studios, Universal City, California.

The pictures I should like to have you send out are:

THE LADY TRYING ON HATS by Dagas.
WOMEN WITH FURPIECE by Manet.
LANDSCAPE (Framed, if possible) by Monet.
(The general tone of this is pale blue and the price quoted at the time was $6,000.00)

In the event that you decide to send these pictures to me, would you kindly send them in care of the Beverly-Wilshire Hotel, Beverly Hills, Calif.?

Very truly yours,

B.G. DeSylva
